Car Builders Insul-Layer is a high-quality, lightweight acoustic and thermal insulation material designed specifically for automotive applications. Unlike traditional open-cell foams, Insul-Layer is moisture-resistant, making it ideal for use in doors, quarter panels, and roofs where condensation or water ingress might occur.

For the best results, apply Insul-Layer over a vibration-damping material like Car Builders Stage 1 Sound Deadener. This combination creates a comprehensive "Stage 2" barrier that tackles both structural vibrations and airborne noise/heat. It is perfect for 4x4s, classic car restorations, and campervan conversions.

NOTE: For all inverted or vertical applications that will be covered in carpet/fabric (IE having more weight added to the surface of the Insul-Layer), we recommend applying our upholstery grade Spray Adhesive rate at 120°C. You can learn more about the foam adhesive and application here.
