Adding a light bar or a set of driving lights to a modern vehicle has never been easier. The CANM8 CANNECT HIGHBEAM is a single-output CAN Bus interface designed to detect high beam activity on compatible CAN Bus vehicles and convert that signal into a low-current 12V output for a relay-triggered driving light circuit. It is ideal for vehicles that do not have a traditional analogue 12V high beam wire available at the headlight.

How it works

By connecting into the vehicle's digital CAN network, the CANM8 CANNECT HIGHBEAM reads high beam activity and provides a 12V output signal when high beam is active. The output is intended to trigger a relay-based auxiliary lighting circuit, making it a neat solution for adding aftermarket driving lights or LED light bars to modern electronically controlled vehicles. The unit provides a 12V, 1A high beam output.

Installation details

The interface features a mini wiring connector that unplugs for easier installation. Wiring connections include CAN Hi, CAN Lo, power, earth, and a dedicated high beam output wire. Important compatibility notes

• This interface is not universal and is only suitable for listed compatible vehicles.
• It is not designed to directly drive a light bar or driving lights. A separate lighting wiring harness and relay setup is still required, and this is not included.
• Some vehicles may not retain auto headlight dimming, although this is not confirmed across all models.
• Vehicle-specific instructions are accessed via the CANM8 app or the QR code on the module. One supplier notes a download limit of 3 instruction downloads per module.
