4WD Central was established in 2011 and has undergone some recent changes reopening in early 2022. Our aim is to provide our guests with exemplary products, services, and information for all things four-wheel driving, camping, fishing, and adventure in North Queensland, this will include information and blogs on the best local places to get off road and into the outback.

We know that no matter whether our customers are a seasoned veteran of the adventure lifestyle or if they are just beginning their first journey, there is always something new to learn, or a new experience to be had. There is so much to be seen and so much to do in this extraordinary corner of Australia – with the right equipment and preparation, you can explore everything it has to offer.

Our company was born in Australia and as an Aussie company, we are proud to have some of the remotest and most impressive tracks in the world. Locations that are the envy of drivers around the world. From the remote, dry, red sandy plain and dunes of the Simpson Desert in the Northern Territory, South Australia and Queensland. To the heritage-listed wet tropical rainforests of Far North Queensland’s Daintree Rainforest. The tracks we have here are INSPIRING and aspirational for international drivers. This is our testing ground and why we are INSPIRING to adventure seekers.

We sell only what we would use. Our aim is to provide high quality products, preferably Australian-made, to four-wheel drive enthusiasts. Gear that we want and love to use also. To provide advice and help others tackle their next adventure. 

This stems from the our love for great gear that lasts a lifetime. Our goal is to make it easy for others by testing gear by trial and error and only stocking the best. We source high quality Australian-made products, supporting local if possible. The product should be built to last constructed of the best materials and have superior design.

We know what it takes to four-wheel drive and to spend your time honing your skills to become a better adventurer. It’s a tough hobby and can be costly if you get things wrong. We also understand what it takes in a very demanding industry that only wants the best.

We live and breathe 4WD, outdoor lifestyle, and adventure! Being as passionate as our customers, we’d love to share our expert advice, product tips, as well as trip ideas with customers to make their outdoor adventure as exciting, yet comfortable and safe as possible.
